Housing discrimination is discrimination in which an individual or family is treated unequally when trying to rent, buy, lease, sell or finance a home based on certain
characteristics, such as race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability and familial status. In 1968, The Fair Housing Act was passed as a follow up to the historic
Civil Rights Act of 1964. Both of these legislative achievements represent the core of the Charlestown Housing Authority. We are committed to practices that are free of
