Welcome to the Charlestown Housing Authority Website!

The CHA is committed to serving those in need of quality housing through our Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs. The Public Housing program offers one to four bedroom apartments and handicapped accessible apartments as well. Please contact our office for questions regarding these programs.

Applicants may begin the housing application process online; however, the application is not complete until it is finalized in person at our office. After starting your application, please call 812-256-6311 to schedule an appointment. All household member age 18 and older must be present at the appointment to sign the application and all required documents.

Please bring ALL required documents with you to your appointment. Applications cannot be completed until all documents are submitted at one time.

Required Documents:

• State-issued birth certificates for all household members
• Social Security cards for all household members
• Most current bank statement
• Verification of income for all household members, including:
• Recent pay stubs from employment
• Social Security benefits statement
• Unemployment benefits documentation
• Self-employment income records
• Child support documentation
• Any other source of income

A copy of your driver’s license will be made when you come into the office. Our office is located at 200 Jennings St., Charlestown, IN 47111.
